Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Beef
Provides the main meaty structure and savory flavor of the dumplings.
Pork
Adds fat that keeps the dumplings moist and tender while cooking.
Bread crumbs
Absorb moisture and help the dumplings hold their shape.
Eggs
Bind the meat mixture and set when heated, holding the dumplings together.

The step that matters

Boil the dumplings gently. Bread crumbs and egg bind the meat, but they firm up as they heat. Boiling too hard can jostle and break the dumplings apart, so a gentle simmer helps them keep their shape.

Swap the capers
