Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Open a tin of minced meat and remove the fat from the top.

  2. Clarify the fat by boiling it in water, then cool it for use as dripping.

  3. Take ½ lb of minced meat, place it in a bowl, and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Chop the sage leaves finely and mix them into the minced meat.

  5. In another bowl, combine 1½ cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, salt, and ½ lb of clarified dripping.

  6. Rub the dripping into the flour until well mixed.

  7. Add enough water to form a stiff paste.

  8. Flour a surface and turn out the paste, dividing it into two portions.

  9. Roll each portion into a thin sheet, about ⅛ inch thick.

  10. Cut the paste into squares, approximately 6 inches on each side.
