What each ingredient does

Yeast
Converts the sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide during fermentation.
White sugar
Provides the fermentable sugar that the yeast turns into alcohol.
Raisins
Add body, sweetness, and fermentable material to the wine.
Lemon juice
Adds acidity that brightens the flavour and supports a clean fermentation.
