Canned Peaches

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no cooking times; the times in the steps were added in transcription, so check for doneness rather than trusting the clock.

  1. Prepare the peaches by peeling and pitting them.

  2. In a pot, combine equal parts sugar and water to create a syrup.

  3. Bring the syrup to a boil, then add the peaches.

  4. Simmer the peaches in the syrup for about 10 minutes.

  5. Pack the peaches into sterilized jars, covering them with the syrup.

  6. Seal the jars and process them in a boiling water bath for 20 minutes.
