Tomato Meat Pie

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Prepare

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Layer the dish

  1. Cover the bottom of a pudding dish with bread crumbs.

  2. Layer cold roasted mutton pieces over the crumbs.

  3. Add a layer of sliced tomatoes.

  4. Repeat the layers: bread crumbs, meat, tomatoes, finishing with a layer of bread crumbs on top.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Bake and serve

  1. Bake until the crust is brown.

  2. Serve hot.
