Cheese Fingers

Oven, in the book's wordsA quick oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a quick oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Roll out the pastry into a thin sheet.

  2. Cut the sheet in half.

  3. Sprinkle one half with grated cheese.

  4. Place the other half on top and roll gently to seal.

  5. Cut into strips about ½ inch wide and 5 inches long.

  6. Place on a baking sheet, sprinkle with more grated cheese, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes.
