Seed Buns

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Prepare the buns

  1. Mix caraway seeds into the bun dough.

  2. Form the dough into buns.

  3. Butter the insides of tart pans and place a bun in each pan.

  4. Let the buns rise near the fire.

Ice and bake

  1. Once risen, ice the buns with the beaten egg white.

  2. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the icing, dissolving it with water from a brush.

  3. Bake for 10 minutes at 400°F (200°C).
