Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Cut the tops off the peppers and remove the seeds.

  2. Soak the pepper shells in hot water for 5 minutes.

  3. Fill the peppers with seasoned chopped cold meat.

  4. Tie the tops back on the peppers.

  5. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking pan and add water, salt, and butter until half covered.

  6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 1 hour, turning once or twice.
