Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a hot oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

Prepare

  1. Mix chopped fish with an equal part of mashed potatoes.

  2. Season with coarse sea salt and black pepper.

  3. Stir in melted butter and beaten eggs.

  4. Form the mixture into a roll and place on a buttered baking sheet.

  5. Brush the roll with a beaten egg and roll in bread crumbs.

Bake

  1. Bake for 30 minutes in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C).
