Beef Suet

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Render and clarify the beef suet by boiling it like bouillon.

  2. Skim off the fat and add slices of onions and pieces of bread.

  3. Let it simmer on low heat for 4-5 hours.

  4. Remove the bread and onions, then strain the liquid until clear.

  5. To use, heat a sufficient quantity in a frying pan.

  6. Test the heat by sprinkling water; if it hisses, it's ready.

  7. For frying fish, dip the tail in first; if it hardens, add the fish and turn it.
