Raised Beef Steak Pie

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Prepare a pie crust to fit your dish.

  2. Butter a sauté pan and sprinkle it with shallot, thyme, parsley, and mushrooms.

  3. Add the beefsteaks to the pan and season with pepper and salt.

  4. Cook for a few minutes, then turn the beefsteaks, season again, and let them cool completely.

  5. Once cooled, place the beefsteaks in the pie crust.

  6. Scrape the herbs from the sauté pan and add them to the pie.

  7. Cover the pie and decorate as desired.

  8. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven until done.

  9. Remove the top crust and add some good gravy.
