Boiled Custard

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a jar or jug, combine the ingredients as for baked custard, omitting lime juice and adding essence.

  2. Place the jar in a saucepan of boiling water.

  3. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and coats the spoon.

  4. Remove from heat and continue stirring for a few minutes to prevent curdling.

  5. Pour into glasses or cups and grate nutmeg on top.

  6. Serve cold.
