What each ingredient does

Salmon
Provides the main body and flavor of the loaf.
Eggs
Bind the mixture and set when steamed, giving the loaf structure.
Cracker crumbs
Absorb liquid and help hold the loaf together.
Cold water
Adds moisture so the loaf stays tender while steaming.

Swap the parsley

The recipe marks parsley as optional. How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (salmon, egg, pepper):

  1. Dillfits about as well
  2. Parsleythe original
  3. Capersfits less well
  4. Tarragonfits less well

Fit is the average pairing score against salmon, egg, pepper. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
