  1. Roll out the puff pastry to ½ inch thick.

  2. Turn a pie plate upside down on the pastry and press to mark.

  3. Cut out the pastry with a sharp knife.

  4. Add two or three thicker rims around the edge like a pie.

  5. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  6. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C) for 45 minutes.

  7. Fill with cream, meats, mushrooms, oysters, or stewed fruits topped with whipped cream.
