Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Apples
Break down into a soft pulp that gives the pudding its body and flavour.
Sugar
Sweetens the pudding and softens the texture of the frozen mixture.
Peach jam
Adds fruit flavour and sweetness along with a little pectin-based body.
Whipped cream
Adds fat and air, giving the frozen pudding a light, creamy texture.
Preserved cherries
Add sweetness, chewy texture and concentrated fruit flavour.

The step that matters

When nearly frozen, pack the mixture into a mold and bury it in ice.. If the mixture is fully frozen before packing, it will not fill the mold evenly or blend smoothly with the whipped cream. Packing while still soft lets it set firm and hold its shape when turned out.

Swap the raisin
