Preservation of Apples

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pick apples carefully by hand after frost risk has passed.

  2. Store apples in close casks, keeping them dry and cool.

  3. Dry the sand in the summer heat.

  4. In late October, layer the apples in a container, covering each layer with sand.

  5. Ensure the sand keeps the apples from air and absorbs moisture.
