Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Leftover meat
Supplies the main savory filling and most of the flavor.
Bread crumbs
Absorb moisture and help bind the filling so it holds its shape.
Egg
Binds the filling and sets as it steams, holding the timbale together.
Macaroni
Lines the mold, forming a shell that surrounds the filling.

The step that matters

Press the filling in compactly. Packing the mixture firmly removes air pockets. The egg sets during steaming, but a loose filling can crumble when the timbale is turned out of the mold.
