Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Prepare

  1. Cut the roast beef or beef steak into small pieces.

  2. Line the sides of a deep dish with thinly rolled biscuit dough.

Assemble

  1. Layer the meat in the dish, followed by slices of cold potatoes, salt, pepper, bits of butter, and cold gravy if available.

  2. Repeat the layering until the dish is nearly full.

  3. Cover with biscuit dough and cut a slit in the top.

Bake

  1. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 30 minutes.
