Stuff and bake

  1. Stuff the cod with a mixture of bread crumbs, salt, pepper, parsley, and spices.

Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Cod
Forms the main body of the dish, cooking gently in the steam of the water and butter.
Bread crumbs
Absorb moisture and juices inside the fish, giving the stuffing a soft, body-filled texture.
Butter
Adds fat and richness, helping the fish stay moist and carry flavour as it bakes.

Swap the parsley

The recipe marks parsley as optional. How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (bread, butter, pepper):

  1. Parsleythe original
  2. Sagefits about as well
  3. Thymefits less well
  4. Nutmegfits less well

Fit is the average pairing score against bread, butter, pepper. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
