Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Ripe raspberries
Provide the main fruit flavour and colour for the vinegar.
Pure cider vinegar
Extracts the fruit flavour and provides the sharp acidity that defines the drink.
White sugar
Sweetens the vinegar and balances its acidity.

The step that matters

Boil until dissolved. Boiling the sugar into the strained juice dissolves it fully so the syrup stays clear and evenly sweet. Skimming removes foam and impurities that would otherwise spoil the flavour and keeping quality.
