Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point. The book gives no cooking times either; the times in the steps were added in transcription, so check for doneness rather than trusting the clock.

Prepare

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Clean the peppers, removing the seeds but not the pulp.

  3. In a bowl, mix the bread crumbs, ground ham, and chopped tomatoes.

Fill and bake

  1. Fill the peppers with the mixture and season with salt and pepper.

  2. Rub the outside of the peppers with butter or cottolene.

  3. Place the peppers in a baking dish and add a little water.

  4. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the peppers are tender.
