Spanish Onions

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Remove the hearts from the onions.

  3. Chop the onions, cooked meat, green pepper, salt, and black pepper finely.

  4. Fry the mixture until browned.

  5. Fill the onions with the mixture and place a small piece of butter on top of each.

  6. Bake the onions until done.

  7. Prepare a sauce from red chili peppers and pour it over the baked onions.

  8. Return the onions to the oven for a few minutes.
