Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut the bread into pieces about ¼ inch thick in various shapes like stars, half moons, squares, rounds, butterflies, or flowers.

  2. Heat good fresh butter in a frying pan until melted and warm.

  3. Add the bread pieces to the pan and fry until they are yellow or light brown.

  4. Turn the pieces to brown both sides evenly.

  5. Remove the croutons with a fork or skimmer and place them on a clean towel for 2-3 minutes to absorb excess grease.
