Dried Cherries
Ingredients
Directions
Gather cherries when nearly ripe, remove stalks and stones.
Prepare a thin syrup by boiling water and sugar.
Add cherries to the syrup and let them sit overnight.
Strain and boil the syrup again, adding more sugar if needed.
Repeat this process on the third day.
On the fourth day, strain the syrup, boil it to a strong consistency, and add the cherries.
Transfer cherries to jars and cover tightly when cool.
To use, lay cherries on large drying sieves and place in a very slow oven.
