Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Chicken
Provides the main flavor, and its bones add body and gelatin to the broth.
Rice
Its starch lightly thickens the broth as it cooks.

The step that matters

Simmer gently for three hours.. Boiling hard agitates fat and particles into the liquid, making the broth cloudy and greasy, while gentle heat keeps it clear.

Swap the parsley

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (chicken, rice):

  1. Turmericfits better
  2. Garlicfits better
  3. Corianderfits better
  4. Parsleythe original

Fit is the average pairing score against chicken, rice. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
