Pastry Sandwiches

Oven, in the book's wordsA moderate oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a moderate oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Divide the puff paste in two and roll each half into a square as thin as possible.

  2. Place one half on a buttered baking sheet and spread it lightly with your choice of jelly.

  3. Cover with the remaining half, pressing the edges together with a rolling pin.

  4. Mark the pastry into divisions and bake in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes.
