Chicken and Beef-Steak Pie

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare a pie crust and pack it into a pie dish.

  3. Layer hard-boiled egg quarters and button mushrooms in the dish.

  4. Sprinkle finely minced parsley over the top.

  5. Pour gravy gently into the pie dish to moisten the contents.

  6. Leave an opening in the center of the crust for venting.

  7. Brush the top of the crust with the beaten egg towards the end of baking.
