Preserved Fruit Tarts

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Grease an oval dish or tin shape with butter.

  3. Line the dish with pastry dough and fill it with preserved fruit.

  4. Roll out a thin piece of pastry dough and cut it into narrow strips.

  5. Brush the rim of the dish with water and lay the strips across the top.

  6. Create a border with more pastry dough and mark it with a cutter.
