Mutton Pik

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut steaks from a loin or neck of mutton that has hung.

  2. Beat the steaks and remove some of the fat.

  3. Season with salt, pepper, and a little onion.

  4. Put a little water at the bottom of the dish and a little pastry at the edge.

  5. Cover with a moderately thick pastry.

  6. For small pies, break each bone in two to shorten it, season, and cover it over, pinching the edge.

  7. When done, pour a spoonful of gravy made from a bit of butter into each pie.
