To Clean Silk Stockings

  1. Wash the stockings in soap and water.

  2. Cut the white soap into thin slices and place it in a tin or copper boiler.

  3. Add the stockings and boil for 10 minutes.

  4. Remove the stockings and rinse them in cold water.

  5. For a blue cast, mix 1 drop of liquid blue in a pan of spring water and run the stockings through it.

  6. Dry the stockings in the air.
