What each ingredient does

Lemons
Supply the flavour and acidity of the wine through their pulp and rind.
Loaf sugar
Provides sweetness and the sugar that yeast ferments into alcohol.
Brandy
Adds alcohol strength and warmth to the finished wine.
Isinglass
Clarifies the wine by helping suspended particles settle out.
