What each ingredient does

Bran
Releases flavour and colour into the water as it simmers, forming the base of the tea.
Gum arabic
Adds body and a smooth, slightly thick mouthfeel to the liquid.
Honey
Adds sweetness and a rounded flavour.

The step that matters

Dissolve and strain through muslin. Straining through muslin removes the bran particles so the tea comes out smooth rather than gritty. Dissolving the gum arabic fully first prevents lumps and keeps the texture even.
