Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Chicken
Provides the main meat flavour and body of the broth as it simmers.
Egg yolks
Enrich the soup and thicken it gently with cream when heated.
Cream
Adds richness and a smooth, mellow texture to the finished soup.
Ground rice
Thickens the broth as it boils, giving the soup a light body.

The step that matters

Adding the cream and egg yolks. Egg yolks can curdle or scramble if they get too hot. Keep the soup at a gentle heat after adding them, and do not let it boil, so the mixture thickens smoothly.

Swap the mace

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (chicken, onion, cream, egg, rice):

  1. Garlicfits better
  2. Turmericfits better
  3. Celeryfits better
  4. Macethe original
