Vegetable Pie

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Prepare the filling

  1. Stew the peas, onion, carrot, turnip, and celery in a pot with a little water until nearly cooked.

  2. Cut the stewed vegetables into small pieces and fill a pie dish with them.

  3. Melt the butter in a pan, stir in the flour, and pour the mixture over the vegetables.

Bake

  1. Cover the filling with the pie crust and bake at 400°F (200°C) until the crust is golden brown, about 30 minutes.
