Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs
What each ingredient does
- Raspberries
- Provide the main fruit flavour and the colour of the vinegar.
- White wine vinegar
- Extracts the fruit flavour and gives the sharp acidity that defines the finished vinegar.
- Sugar
- Sweetens and balances the sharpness of the vinegar and helps preserve the liquid.
The step that matters
Boiling the syrup gently. Boiling gently with the sugar dissolves it and lets the scum rise to be removed. A hard boil can darken the colour and dull the fresh raspberry flavour.
“What each ingredient does” and “The step that matters” were written by Claude from this recipe’s own method and reviewed in samples by CompKitchen.
