Canned Fruits
Ingredients
Directions
Remove the kernels from the corn and pack them tightly into a one-quart can using the small end of a potato masher.
Screw the lid on tightly using your thumb and first finger.
Place a cloth in the bottom of a wash boiler to prevent breakage.
Layer the cans in the boiler, placing a cloth between layers.
Cover the cans with cold water and bring to a boil.
Boil for three hours without stopping.
After boiling, remove the boiler from the heat and let the water cool.
Tighten the lids again once the cans are cool.
Wrap each can in brown paper to exclude light and store in a cool, dry cellar.
Replace rubber rings every two years for best results.
