Ingredients

Directions

Infuse the peel

  1. Pare the oranges thin and steep the peel in the brandy in a sealed stone bottle for 12 days.

Make the syrup

  1. Boil the sugar in 3 pints of water for 1 hour, skimming off any foam.

  2. Allow the sugar water to cool, then mix it with the brandy.

Finish and strain

  1. Squeeze the oranges into the mixture and strain it through a filtering bag.

  2. If the mixture is less than 4 quarts, add water to make up the difference.
