Preserved- Fruit Tarts

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Line a flat pie dish with puff pastry, about ¼ inch thick.

  3. Roll out another piece of puff pastry to ½ inch thick and cut it into 1-inch wide strips.

  4. Wet one side of the strips and lay them around the edge of the pie dish.

  5. Fill the center with preserved fruit or jam.

  6. Decorate the top with small leaves or twisted strips of puff pastry.

  7. Bake for 30 minutes.

  8. Serve cold.
