Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Veal
Provides the main protein and body of the dish as it cooks slowly in water.
Rice
Absorbs liquid and softens, adding bulk and a starchy texture to the dish.

The step that matters

Stirring the rice in the warm water. Rice settles and sticks to the bottom of the pot, where it can scorch. Occasional stirring keeps the grains suspended and evenly cooked.

Swap the mace

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (veal, rice):

  1. Turmericfits better
  2. Celeryfits better
  3. Parsleyfits better
  4. Macethe original
