Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.

  3. Strew cleaned currants over the pastry.

  4. Cut the pastry into round cakes using the top of a dredging box.

  5. Place the cakes on floured baking sheets.

  6. Bake until golden brown.

  7. Sift sugar over the cakes immediately after removing them from the oven.

  8. Transfer the cakes to a dish to cool.
