Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Jordan almonds
Provide the main nutty almond flavour and the fats and proteins that give the milk body.
Double-refined sugar
Adds sweetness and balances the bitter almond flavour.
Spring water
Forms the liquid base and carries the almond flavour into the syrup.
Orange-flower water
Adds a light floral aroma that complements the almonds.

The step that matters

Gradually add the spring water. Adding the water slowly to finely pounded almonds helps the almond fats and proteins disperse evenly into the liquid, giving a smoother, more stable milk instead of a grainy separated one.

Swap the orange

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (almond, sugar):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Raisinfits better
  3. Figfits better
  4. Orangethe original

Fit is the average pairing score against almond, sugar. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
