What each ingredient does

Yeast
Converts the sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide during fermentation.
Raisins
Add sugar and body, feeding the fermentation and adding fruity flavour.
Loaf sugar
Provides the sugar that yeast ferments into alcohol.
Lemons
Add acidity and brightness that balance the sweetness of the wine.
