To Boil Asparagus

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut the white stalk of the asparagus about six inches from the head.

  2. Soak the asparagus in cold water, then tie them in small bundles.

  3. Boil the asparagus quickly until tender, being careful not to overcook.

  4. Toast a slice of bread until very brown on both sides.

  5. Once the asparagus is done, carefully remove it and dip the toast quickly in the boiling water.

  6. Lay the asparagus on the toast with the white ends facing outwards.

  7. Pour melted butter over the toast and asparagus.
