Ingredients

Directions

  1. Dissolve lard or butter in boiling water.

  2. Mix in flour with a spoon until a smooth and firm paste forms.

  3. Mould a lump of paste into a sugar loaf shape and place it upright on the table.

  4. Flatten the sides with your palms until smooth and equal in thickness.

  5. Hollow the inside by pressing with your fingers, keeping the thickness even.

  6. Fill the hollow with your choice of meat, poultry, or game.

  7. Roll out a cover from the remaining paste, egg the edges, and press them together securely.

  8. Make a hole in the center, lay a roll of paste around it, and decorate as desired.
