Beans and Bacon

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Boil the beans and bacon separately, adding salt and parsley to the water.

  2. Once the beans are tender, drain them in a colander.

  3. Remove the skin from the bacon and sprinkle bread crumbs on top.

  4. If you have a red-hot iron, hold it over the bacon to brown it; otherwise, place it before the fire.

  5. Arrange the beans in a dish with the bacon on top.

  6. Serve with parsley and butter on the side.
