Jam Making
Ingredients
Directions
Cook the fruits until they boil, adding water if needed.
Boil for about ten minutes longer for juicy fruits.
Test consistency by placing a small amount on a clean plate; if it sets when cold, it's done.
If syrup remains liquid, boil longer and test again.
Once ready, strain the fruit from the syrup if desired.
Boil the syrup rapidly until it jellies when tested.
Replace the fruit for a final gentle boil.
Prepare clean, dry jars and fill them with the jam.
Cover with damp vegetable parchment and tie down, or use milk-dipped paper if parchment is unavailable.
