Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Gelatine
Sets the cream so the dessert holds its shape when firm.
Cream
Adds richness and a light, airy texture when whipped.
Pineapple
Provides the main fruit flavour and body of the dessert.
Sugar
Sweetens the pineapple mixture and balances its tartness.

The step that matters

Fold the pineapple mixture into the cream quickly. Whipped cream holds air that gives lightness; folding gently and quickly keeps that air from collapsing, so the set dessert stays light rather than dense.

Swap the pineapple

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (cream, sugar, milk):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Strawberryfits better
  3. Figfits better

Fit is the average pairing score against cream, sugar, milk. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
