Mushroom Toast

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Cook the mushrooms in a little butter until tender.

  2. Add gravy or thickened stock and season to taste.

  3. Make the mixture the consistency of mushroom sauce.

  4. Spread the mixture on the toast and place it in a 350°F (175°C) oven covered for a few minutes.

  5. Pour any remaining mixture over the toast before serving.
