Ingredients

Directions

  1. Administer ½ ounce of dried savin in a moistened feed of corn once or twice daily for a week.

  2. For a stronger treatment, mix 2 drams of calomel and ½ ounce of myrrh with conserve of wormwood to form a ball and give it at night.

  3. Alternatively, mix 2 drams of quicksilver and ½ ounce of Venice turpentine until no glistening appears, then add 2 drams of scammony and 2 drams of jalap with enough oil of savin to form a ball.

  4. Give the ball at night followed by 1 pint of linseed oil.

  5. The next morning, administer a purge made from 8 drams of succotrine aloes, 2 drams each of myrrh, long pepper, and ginger, and 2 drams of oil of savin, mixed with sirup of buckthorn to form a ball.
