Veal or Beef Pie

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 300°F (150°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Boil and cut the fresh meat into small pieces or use leftover roast meat.

  2. Line a pan with rich puff pastry.

  3. Layer the meat in the pan, alternating with strips of pastry that have been floured.

  4. Dot the layers of meat with butter.

  5. Pour over the seasoned cooking water and some gravy from the roast.

  6. Cover with the top pastry and bake at 300°F (150°C) until cooked through.
